PURPOSE  To research a specific December/January holiday and select a way to share the discovered knowledge with classmates.

1.  Using an LCD projector and Inspiration program to create a web, brainstorm different known holidays

2.  Continue to brainstorm topics to identify what information is needed to proceed with project (i.e. origin of holiday, foods related, type of celebrations, etc.) Print a hard copy as a reference for student use.

3. In Media Center, students spend approx. 30 minutes using reference materials to explore each holiday and make an informed decision as to what holiday they choose to explore further.

4.  Students will gather information and organize it, using Inspirations program.

5.  Students expand on web, gathering and writing specific and detailed information on each category.

6.  As a class, brainstorm ways to creatively and effectively present discoveries to the class. (i.e. pop-up book, power point presentation, poster, collage, dramatic performance, etc.)

8.  Evaluation.  Using a self evaluation rubric, students reflect on process and final product, individually and collaboratively with instructor.
