PURPOSE:  Students will use the Big6 skills process to gather, interpret, and present information on individuals who have made an impact on society.

 

DESCRIPTION:  Students will work in groups of four to present a MovieMaker project.

Students will participate in teacher guided brainstorming and discussion to determine questions that should be answered about their person.

Students will brainstorm a list all possible print and non print sources of information and choose at least one print and one non print to answer their questions.

Students will search the online catalog to locate a print resource using skills taught by the media specialist.  After a lesson on searching the web and evaluating web sites, students will search the web for answers to their questions about their person. Make sure that students document their resources.

Students will use the table of contents and index in their print resource to help them locate their information.  Make sure that students document their resources.

Students will record answers to their questions from the above research using a format suggested by their teacher; for example, Kidspiration or Inspiration or two column notes.

Students will write the narration for their final project which will be a digital movie using MovieMaker.  This narration will include 2-3 sentence answers to their questions.

Students will locate pictures and graphics to go with each answer.  They will then record their narration and add their pictures/graphics and music to create their movie.
